Abstract

This article explores the ways in which the music contributes to the resilience in the COVID-19 pandemic confinement in Spanish cities. We analyze songs inspired directly by the health crisis and songs written by songwriters or pop artists from different eras or walks of life, and the process of re-contextualization. The present analysis focuses on how city dwellers express their identities and
sense of belonging by means of these songs, and how this can be linked to an imaginary urban scene.
